Briones Regional Park A Hike with Titus The Dog on April 14, 2010  Located next to Pleasant Hill, California, Briones Regional Park is a true gem in the San Francisco Bay area.  The park features 6,117 beautiful acres of nature and exploration, providing trails for hiking, running, mountain biking, and horseback riding; picnic areas; and camping areas.  Good dogs are allowed off leash in most of the park.  Briones is home to many forms of wildlife, trees, native grasses, and wildflowers; and is used as a grazing area for cattle.  The area that includes Briones is land from a 1842 Mexican land grant of 13,316 acres made to Maria Manuela Valencia, the widow of Felipe Briones.  The park land (operated and maintained by the East Bay Regional Park District) is now owned by the East Bay Municipal Utility District, for use as a watershed.         These photos were taken in Briones Regional Park on April 14, 2010.  See you at Briones!
