Mary is a graduate of the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln, with a major in Economics and minors in Mathematics, Spanish, English, and History. Mary founded
Fouts Financial Group in 1999. From 1988 to 1999, Mary held marketing, technical, and administrative positions
with large, multi-line insurance companies.
Professional
Contributions: Volunteer and Pro Bono Activities Mary
provides volunteer services to the Internal Revenue Service, serving as a Focus Group Participant. Mary has also
provided volunteer services to the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., serving as an Examination Content
Specialist and an Examination Question Reviewer for the Council on Examinations, and as a Disciplinary Hearings Volunteer
Member for the Disciplinary and Ethics Commission. Mary provides pro bono services to qualifying individuals affected
by catastrophic events involving insurance, financial, and tax matters. Personal Interests and Leisure Activities
Mary is an avid long distance runner. She
collects Disney memorabilia and is particularly fond of the loveable donkey Eeyore. Mary enjoys collecting wine,
cooking and baking, gardening, birdwatching, and exploring California on motorcycle excursions. Mary is also an avid reader. A fan of many literary genres, she particularly
enjoys novels about American history from the Pre-Revolutionary War era through the Civil War and Reconstruction periods. Mary
and her husband Jim reside in Pleasant Hill, California with their faithful canine companion Titus.
